Getting ready to visit Adelaide? You must know the seasonal changes to identify the most convenient time for your trip. Adelaide has different seasons. Winters are mild, while summers are warm and sunny. We have listed out a simple checklist which would enable you to know how much time is remaining before it becomes necessary to pack for Adelaide.
Summer (December to February)
During the summer, Adelaide experiences hot and dry weather. The average temperature ranges from 17 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius (or 63 degrees Fahrenheit to 85 degrees Fahrenheit). At some times it may be very hot amounting to 104 degrees Fahrenheit or 40 degrees centigrade. If you have good weather, then this is the right season for you. The weather is cool making it convenient to easily roam around the city without sweat. Also, the days are long in December because the sun goes down around 8: 30 pm.
Fall (March to May)
Autumn ushers in relatively cooler weather whereby its mean temperature ranges at a maximum of 23°C or 73°F and a minimum of 13°C or 55°F. The city and its environs appear so pretty in the hues of red, orange, and gold. The ideal time for a visit is when it is still hot and less crowded.
Winter (June to August)
Temperatures in summer are pleasant varying between 20°C – 35°C (68 – 95°F) while in winter it is cool with an average daytime temperature of between 8°C and 16°C (47°F). Despite it being the driest month, Adelaide remains more arid compared to many other Australian towns. The winter is also a great time to visit especially, for people who are not bothered by some rain. Additionally, the frost could be as low as the local Adelaide Hills town.
Spring (September to November)
The spring comes, with temperatures varying from 12 to 22 degrees Celsius (or 54-72 Fahrenheit). Although not much rain, however, nights get cold. It is also summertime in Adelaide, and an excellent opportunity to visit the parks.
Daylight Savings Time
Remember, DST starts in October and finishes in April. It implies that the duration of summer days will be very long and this sounds good, especially for travellers.
The summer sea temperatures.
In the summer, the water temperature makes it comfortable for swimming of around 20°C to 21°C (68°F to 70°F).
Although winters in Adelaide do occur, there is very little snow. While there is a slight possibility of snowing in the Adelaide Hills, it does not frequently occur within the city.
Conclusion:
Adelaide is beautiful any time of the year. You can always visit Adelaide either during the warm summer sun or when it’s breezy in the fall. Choose a season that is best suited to you and plan a journey accordingly!
